Since we launched our Just Giving campaign less than a week ago we have been, once again, humbled at the generosity of our wonderful supporters – both those well known to us and new faces joining the gang

From zero to £1,250 in such a short time! We are so grateful to you; it means a lot that you are thinking of the mums, dads and children who are not only sharing the same stresses we are all experiencing right now, but who are having to do so in homes that are anything but safe places.

I can report that the families in NDADA’s refuge (the only one in Devon and supported through the generosity of our community) are safe and well during this most difficult of times. Sadly, they are away from their families and friends at a time when most of us are relying on those networks to keep our equilibrium. However, they have the knowledge that many strangers care about them and are doing their best to make this time as comfortable and stress-free as possible. They do not know your names but they can feel your support and compassion and it means so much.

I’ve included a picture of our playroom at the refuge below so you can see what your donations help support.

NDADA’s teams are working hard, learning new and innovative ways to support the increasing number of clients who are seeking our help. The technophobes among us have had an epiphany and our new online chat service will be launched soon on our website which will be another way that those in need can find help from our team. Without your help we would not have been able to do this: your generosity saves lives, never be in any doubt of that.

Here are a few of the messages that supporters of the Just Giving campaign have left:

‘Thank you for everything that you do’
‘Domestic abuse during these troubled times is a priority. I applaud all those who are helping’
‘Great work guys. I survived domestic abuse years ago but always help others when I can. And I’m in Western Australia’
‘Wishing NDADA well in your vital work to protect women and children at risk of violence’
‘Grateful not to need your help – and aware of those who do. X’
